<p>Disclosed is a composition for forming silica coats which comprises a siloxane polymer and an alkali metal compound. A hydrolysis-condensation product of a silane compound having a hydrolyzable group is preferable as the siloxane polymer. Sodium, lithium, potassium, rubidium, caesium or the like is used as an alkali metal for the alkali metal compound. A nitrate, sulfate, carbonate, oxide, chloride, bromide, fluoride, iodide or hydroxide of the above-mentioned alkali metal is used as the alkali metal compound. The composition for forming silica coats may also contain a hole-forming material. One or more substances selected from polyalkylene glycols and terminally alkylated products thereof are used as the hole-forming material.</p> |
