The invention relates to the branch of arc fusion welding, in particular, to the development of welding materials for underwater manual welding of low-carbon and low-alloy steels of increased strength. The use of proposed electrode at welding under water solves the technical problem of repair of the metal structures of corresponding purpose, including conduits, which operate in the aqueous medium. An electrode for underwater welding consists of a rod from wire made of high-alloy steel of the system of alloying on the basis of nickel and chromium and coating, which contains rutile concentrate, feldspar, fluorite and ferrosilicon, into which is additionally introduced iron oxide, metallurgical magnesite and carboxymethyl cellulose at following ratio of components, mass.%: fluorite 22.0-31.0 rutile concentrate 22.0-37.0 iron oxide 15.0-31.0 feldspar 8.0-13.0 metallurgical magnesite 4.0-9.0 ferrosilicon 0.5-2.0 carboxymethyl cellulose 1.5-2.0. The coefficient of the mass of coating makes 22- 25%. The invention provides for guarantee by welding in all attitude positions of high quality formation of the weld material, resistance against cold cracking in heat-affected area of low-alloy steels of increased strength and indices of mechanical properties of weld material at the level of properties of base metal.
