The invention relates to the branch of arc fusion welding, in particular, to the development of welding materials for underwater manual welding of low-carbon and low-alloy steels. The use of proposed electrode at welding under water solves the technical problem of repair of metal structures of critical purpose, including conduits, which operate in aqueous medium. An electrode for proposed underwater welding consists of a rod from steel CB-08 and a coating, which contains rutile concentrate, feldspar, fluorite, iron oxide, metallurgical magnesite, metallic manganese, ferrosilicon, nickel powder and carboxymethyl cellulose with following ratio of components, mass.%: fluorite 19.5-28.0 rutile concentrate 18.0-33.5 iron oxide 13.0-28.0 feldspar8.0-12.0 metallurgical magnesite 4.0-8.0 metallic manganese 5.0-10.0 ferrosilicon 0.5-2.0 nickel powder 0.5-3.5 carboxymethyl cellulose 1.5-2.0. The coefficient of the mass of coating makes 22-25%. At welding in all attitude positions good quality formation of weld material is ensured and indices of mechanical properties of weld material are in accordance with the requirements of "Specifications for underwater welding" ANSI/AWS D3.6.
