To permit the use of a re-circulating ball or roller-type screw and nut gearing with a screw 3 having a longitudinal keyway 31 receiving the sliding key of a further member (not shown), the nut 1 includes a slider 12 which lodges in the keyway 3 1 and thereby prevents the balls or rollers from falling into the keyway. Flanges 12 1 , 12 2 longitudinally locate the slider in the nut and may, as shown, engage nut counterbores 1 1 to support the slider in the bottom of the screw keyway. A housing 2 having recirculation channels 2 1 , 2 2 is secured to the nut. A counter-nut may also be provided to ensure irreversibility. |
