To provide the optimal and the reliable appraisal, the diagnosis of the disordered carbohydrate metabolism is carried out by assessing the glycemia on an empty stomach. When the glycemia on an empty stomach exceeds the normal level being inferior to the diabetic values, the oral glucose tolerance test is performed. When aggravation or simulation of the disordered carbohydrate metabolism is suspected, the content of glycated hemoglobin or fructosamine is assessed. The military fitness appraisal comprises taking into account the severity of the disorders in the carbohydrate metabolism.
