METHODE FOR FORMING CONTINUOUS CHANNEL OF THE SURFACE OF CASTING ROLL FOR THE TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTING PROCESS

A method for forming continuous channels for gas exhaust on surfaces of casting rolls for twin roll strip casting is provided to prevent dent defects from being formed on a casting slab and manufacture a defect-free casting slab by effectively exhausting entrapped gas without isolating the entire surfaces of the casting rolls. A method for forming continuous channels for gas exhaust on surfaces of casting rolls for twin roll strip casting comprises: a step(410) of coating a photosensitive photoresist(412) on entire surfaces of the casting rolls and drying the coated photosensitive photoresist in a darkroom; a patterning step(420) of adhering a film having shape and appearance of continuous channels(452) for gas exhaust printed thereon onto the coated photosensitive photoresist relative to the entire surfaces of the casting rolls and irradiating ultraviolet rays onto the film or directly irradiating a laser onto the dried photosensitive photoresist to form the shape and the appearance of the continuous channels for gas exhaust; a developing step(430) of dissolving and removing a photosensitive film of a non-photosensitive part with a diluted ammonia with weak alkalinity or a dichromic acid solution with a concentration of less than 8% after exposing the patterned surfaces of the casting rolls; and a step(440) of etching metal faces of the casting roll surfaces exposed in the developing step to form continuous channels for gas exhaust.
