The inlet manifold, especially for a diesel engine, incorporates a chamber (8) for connecting the components of an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) circuit (9). The chamber has an inlet tube connected directly to an EGR channel in the engine's clinder head, an outlet connected to the inlet of a heat exchanger (92), and an aperture between the two for a regulating valve (91). The outlet is in the form of a tube (82) with an end fixing (82A) for connecting to the heat exchanger.
