Cosmetic use of Scutellaria extract as slimming agent for topical application

Cosmetic use of Scutellariaextract as slimming agent for topical application. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic process to prevent and/or treat a degradation in the skin surface mainly on fat storage zones, comprising topical application of a cosmetic composition comprising the Scutellariaextract . ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Antiinflammatory; Antibacterial. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Lipolysis activator; Adipocyte dedifferentiation stimulator; Lipogenesis inhibitor; Adipocyte conversion inhibitor. The ability of the Scutellariaextract to inhibit adipocyte conversion was tested. The results showed that the treatment of the pre-adipocytary cells by the Scutellariaextract very strongly inhibited the triglycerides conversion process i.e. 66% inhibition on the eleventh day of application, thus the Scutellariaextract exhibited good inhibiting effect on adipocyte conversion and lipogenesis.
