The method involves transmitting a set of cartographic data corresponding to a resolution level to a user, and restoring the cartographic data to the user. Peri-data relative to complexification processing of the data are generated to the user for generating a specified set of cartographic data corresponding to another resolution level. The specified set of cartographic data are restored to the user, and the transmitting, generating and restoring steps are repeated as long as determined criteria are not satisfied.
