The driving unit passes a profile (10) from an inactive retracted position, in which the profile is invisible from the exterior of the vehicle, to an active deployed position during opening of a lateral door (2). The profile is extended along a free rear edge (4) of the door and constituted of a protective sheath, which is made of rubber.
