PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel inspection apparatus capable of discriminating the video of dust sticking to the surfaces on both sides of a liquid crystal panel and the defect inside the liquid crystal panel in an inspection apparatus for inspecting the liquid crystal panel in a state having no polarizing plate by using an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A back light switch 36 is turned on and an oblique illumination switch 40 is turned off. A shutter 32 is opened to irradiate the rear side of the liquid crystal panel 12 with the light of the back light device 30 through a light diffusion plate 24 and the first polarizing plate 22, and the rear side of the liquid crystal panel 12 is photographed with a CCD camera 44. At this time, the dust within the liquid crystal panel 12 and the dust (external dust) on the surfaces on both sides are reflected. Next, the shutter 32 is closed and the oblique illumination switch 40 is turned on, and photographing is performed similarly. At this time, the internal dust is not reflected and only the external dust is reflected. The internal dust and the external dust can be discriminated by comparing two videos.
