The device (1) has identical parts (4) placed facing each other on sides of a median plane perpendicular to an axle. The parts are embedded with each other by a reciprocal embedding unit (5). Each part has an axial locking projection that cooperates with a circular hole that is provided on the axle. Each part has an axial maintenance cap (8) that is provided in a free end of the part for axial maintenance of the helical spring. The unit (5) cooperates by rotation with one of the parts along a predetermined angle. The cap has an outer diameter greater than an inner diameter of the spring. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle seat comprising two elements mounted in rotation with respect to each other, and a device for associating a helical spring on an axle.
