<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technical means for more accurate identity authentication on a trade member as a commodity purchaser in electronic commerce. <P>SOLUTION: The trade member authentication system for electronic commerce has a proxy company server of a proxy company serving as an agent for settlement in the electronic commerce, and an agency server of at least one or more public service agencies providing a public service to the trade member as the commodity purchaser in the electronic commerce.
