<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system carrying out processing suitable to data while securing the confidentiality of a user's data without increasing the cost of a multifunction device. <P>SOLUTION: A user A (User 1) carries out printing with a PC 4 (S1). Printing data are stored in a Print folder subordinate to the User 1 folder of a file server 3 (S2). The Print folder is locked by a password. The user A moves to a digital multifunction machine 2 (S3); and, when the user A inputs his or her password and gives a printing instruction (S4), the password is transmitted to the file server 3, and authentication is carried out by the file server 3. When the authentication succeeds, the printing data list of the User 1 is transmitted to the digital multifunctional machine 2 (S5).
