PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a video/audio reproducing device from being improperly used by an improper user at home. SOLUTION: The device is provided with: an input means to receiving information on contents and reproduction conditions of contents attached to the contents; a recording and reproducing means for recording the contents and information on reproduction conditions in a storage medium and reproducing it from a recording medium; an authentication means for reading biological information, for biometrics authentication and specifying a user, a reproduction instruction means inputting instruction for reproducing the contents recorded in the recording and reproducing means; and a control means in which when an instruction for reproducing the contents recorded in the recording and reproducing means by the reproduction instruction means is input, it is determined whether the user satisfies reproduction conditions of the contents or not using information about output of the authentication means and reproduction conditions, when it is satisfied, the contents is reproduced, when it is not satisfied, the recording and reproducing means is controlled so as not to reproduce the contents.
