PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanium black dispersion which forms a black matrix coating film having a water-repellent function as a black matrix of a color filter, on which each red, green, and blue ink can be suitably applied. SOLUTION: The dispersion for forming a black matrix is obtained by using a water-repellent titanium black obtained by treating titanium black with a water-repellent substance such as a fluororesin, a silicone resin, a silane coupling agent, and wax.
