PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control mirror which has a controlled structure of an interface and thus enhanced durability of switching. SOLUTION: In a light control material which is a thin film element obtained by forming a multilayered thin film on a transparent base material and changes to a transparent state from a mirror state by a hydrogen-containing gas and changes to the mirror state from the transparent state by an oxygen-containing gas, the multilayered thin film comprises a light control mirror material composed of a light control layer, a buffer layer and a catalyst layer and an article having a light control mirror function to which a light control function is added using the light control mirror material is obtained. Accordingly, a new light control mirror multilayered thin film structure drastically enhanced in durability and response with respect the switching of the light control mirror can be provided.
