PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure roll for producing molded coal, which reduces a cost caused by changing pressure rolls. SOLUTION: The pressure roll (1) for producing molded coal produces molded coal by using a kneaded material obtained by kneading dust coal with a binder. The pressure roll is equipped with a rotatable pressure roll main body (11) and a sleeve (12) which is attached to the pressure roll main body and is made of a metal material having impact resistance. The surface layer of the sleeve is formed by fuild-up welding by the use of an abrasion-resistant material and grooves (12a) which are extended in a revolving shaft (L) direction and have 0.5-4 mm depth are formed on the surface of the surface layer part.
