PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of adequately controlling the conveyance of a medium by winding. SOLUTION: The printing device 10 to use a medium roll 20 comprises a delivery roller 102 for rotatably holding the medium roll 20, a printing unit 112 for printing a medium 30 delivered from the medium roll 20, a winding roller 108 for winding the medium 30 printed by the printing unit 112, a motor 122 for rotating the winding roller 108 in the winding direction of the medium 30, a conveyance amount detection unit 114 for detecting the conveyance amount of the medium 30 to be successively delivered from the medium roll 20, a roller diameter calculation unit 116 for calculating the winding roller diameter as the diameter of the roll-shaped medium 30 wound by the winding roller 108 based on the conveyance amount detected by the conveyance amount detection unit 114, and an output control unit 118 for controlling the output of the motor 122 based on the winding roller diameter calculated by the roller diameter calculation unit 116.
