PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent freezing of a sill on an elevator while restricting consumption of power. SOLUTION: The anti-freezing system prevents freezing of a car sill 3 for guiding opening/closing of a door 2 of a cage 1 in the elevator, and a landing sill 13 for guiding opening/closing of a landing door 12. It is provided with water detection sensors 4 respectively installed on upper surfaces of the car sill 3 and the landing sill 13 in such a way as not to prohibit opening/closing of the car door 2 and the landing door 13, heaters to heat the car sill 3 and the landing sill 13, and switches to connect the heaters to the power supply as the water detection sensors 4 detect water. A timer may be provided between the water detection sensor 4 and the switch, so that the heater is disconnected from the power supply after a prescribed time.
