摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately judge misfire of a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine capable of outputting power to a drive shaft via a torsion element. SOLUTION: In this misfire detection method, bandpass filter extracting component influencing rotation speed fluctuation of an engine at reference rotation speed Nset in a range where resonance occurs is applied to 30 degree rotation speed N30 which is rotation sped of a crankshaft of every 30 degrees to obtain filtered rotation speed F(N30), the filtered rotation speed F(N30) is corrected by using phaseθand gain K corresponding to rotation speed Ne of the engine to obtain corrected rotation speed F(N30)a (S310 - S330), and misfire of judged by judgment duration T30j which is an inverse of judgment rotation speed N30j obtained by subtracting the corrected rotation speed F(N30) from 30 degree rotation speed N30.
