PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high targeting accuracy even in a living body changing a position and allow a sure work despite of a doctor with a little experience by improving the targeting accuracy and introduction accuracy of a biopsy needle or the like by a small critical mounting accuracy of a scanning head. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic imaging apparatus displaying an ultrasonic image of the living body in which the biopsy needle is punctured, is provided with a means for generating and displaying two-dimensional B mode image including a pathway of the biopsy needle which is to puncture the living body, and a method for generating and displaying a three-dimensional B mode image including the pathway in its part.
