PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display and a drive method therefor, capable of securing ample input time for video signal, even at a high frame frequency. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal panel 102; a gate driver 104, which supplies a plurality of gate lines GL1 to GLn on the liquid crystal panel 102 with a plurality of gate signals enabled by each 1st period, that is the sum of single cycle period 1H of a horizontal synchronization signal and a predetermined periodα, and which superimposes gate signals supplied to two adjoining gate lines GL1 to GLn, respectively, on each other; and a data driver 106 which supplies a pixel data signal at each cycle of the horizontal synchronization signal, to a plurality of data lines DL1 to DLm on the liquid crystal panel 102.
