PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a space of a driver while absorbing collision energy at the time of collision with a large-sized obstacle, and to prevent a flying object from entering a driver's cab by a secure structure at the time of collision with the flying object, concerning transporting apparatus such as a railroad vehicle. SOLUTION: Windows 40, 40 are opened on a flying object protecting plate 50 provided at a distal end portion of the driver's cab 25, and energy absorbing members 100, 100 are made to penetrate the windows 40, 40 and disposed so as to extend from the inside of the driver's cab in front of the flying object protecting plate 50. The energy absorbing members 100, 100 of high absorbing capacity can be efficiently disposed by using a space of the driver's cab provided on a vehicle body. A beam member of a crushable zone 11a including the flying object protecting plate 50 can be securely installed, and coupled to a survival zone 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
