<p>The invention provides for a system and a method for managing a database. The system (10) includes a data store (15) for storing information items from a plurality of persons, a ranking means (18) and a communication facility (14). The system (10) is arranged so that a person may, from time to time, improve the rank accorded by the ranking means (18) to the information item of that person by sending an SMS or e-mail to the communication facility (14), which will then generate a stamp which is sent to the data store (15). The ranking means (18) ranks the information items according to the value or number of the stamps associated with the information items. The invention also relates to the communication facility (14) and to a method of operating it as well as to the ranking facility (12) and to a method of ranking information items.</p> |
