Provided is an input device having an illuminating function, which can be manufactured at a low price and in a small size and which has a low power consumption. The input device having the illuminating function is constituted to comprise a wiring board (1) having a desired wiring pattern formed to include fixed contacts (1a), a light emitting diode (2), a planar light guide plate (5) for guiding the light emitted from the light emitting diode (2), metal domes (6) as movable contacts, and a cover sheet (8) having an actuator (7) for pushing and operating the metal domes (6). The wiring board (1) is formed of an opaque white material. In the surface of the planar light guide plate (5), a plurality of prism grooves (11) are formed in a stripe shape, and through holes (14) for housing the metal domes are formed at predetermined portions. An air layer (16) is formed between the face on the prism groove forming side of the planar light guide plate (5) and the cover sheet (8). The lights released into the through holes (14) are reflected to the side of the cover sheet (8) by the metal domes (6).
