A display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to enhance visibility of characters by converting image signal data of adjacent upper/lower pixels in a black or white horizontal line to magenta or cyan type image signal data. A display apparatus includes a display panel, which includes plural electrodes and pixels having three sub-pixels formed in a triangle, a controller for generating control signals to drive the electrodes, and a driver driving the electrodes. The controller includes a rendering processing unit(210) and a feedback processing unit(220). The rendering processing unit processes image signal data of respective pixels. The feedback processing unit calculates a first disperse in every pixels based on the three sub-pixels using the image signal data, calculates a second disperse between sub-pixels in every pixels using the processed image signal data from the rendering processing unit, and reconverts the processed image signal data to original image signal data when the first disperse is identical to the second disperse or the second disperse is smaller than the first disperse in the same pixel.
