PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative resist for forming a protrusion for liquid crystal alignment capable of forming the protrusion for liquid crystal alignment having excellent adhesiveness to a substrate even when a bottom area is minute and excellent height and shape stability, to provide the protrusion for liquid crystal alignment formed by using the negative resist for the protrusion for liquid crystal alignment, to provide a color filter, to provide a liquid crystal display element and to provide a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: In the negative resist for forming the protrusion for liquid crystal alignment containing an alkali-soluble resin, a polymerizable monomer, a photopolymerization initiator and a silane coupling agent, the alkali-soluble resin has a double bond in its molecule and has≥100 mg KOH/g acid value.
