摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display capable of preventing deterioration in display characteristics even under high humidity environment or high temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display having a transmission region and a reflection region in one pixel has a liquid crystal layer 16 between a TFT substrate 14 and a CF substrate 15 disposed opposite to each other. The liquid crystal display is provided with a first polarization control element 27 provided to the surface opposite to the liquid crystal layer 16 of the TFT substrate 14 and a second polarization control element 28 provided to the surface opposite to the liquid crystal layer 16 of the CF substrate 15. The first and the second polarization control elements 27 and 28 have at least polarizing plates and retardation plates respectively. The second polarization control element 28 includes the retardation plate composed of a liquid crystal film 22 and the second polarization control element 28 is disposed on the viewing side of the first polarization control element 27 and has a reflection preventing film 26 provided to the surface opposite to the CF substrate 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
