<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a steering wheel capable of restricting an inflation completion shape of the airbag according to a driver at steering. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device M1 for the steering wheel is provided with the bag-like airbag 29 inflated on a ring part R of the steering wheel W at completion of inflation. The airbag 29 is provided with a driver side wall part 38 making a neighborhood to a center to a restriction surface 38a for receiving the driver, and in the airbag 29, a leaving distance from a storage portion of the driver side wall part 38 at completion of inflation is restricted by a plurality of tethers 43 arranged at the inside. Length dimension of the tethers 43 arranged at at least four positions can be adjusted by a length adjustment mechanism controlling operation by a control device. The restriction surface 38a of the airbag 29 at inflation is positioned approximately parallel to an upper half body of the driver at restriction by adjustment of the length dimension of the respective tethers 43 to complete the inflation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
