PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a person who has difficulty in communicating over the telephone, for example, the hearing impaired or speech impaired to easily communicate. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a telephone set K1 linked to an internal or external voice recognition means B21, the telephone set comprising a partner identifying means B10 of identifying whether the partner has been learnt at termination or origination, and a partner voice display means B8 of starting the voice recognition means B21 when it is recognized that the partner has been learnt at the termination to enter a voice recognition conversation mode and makes the voice recognition means recognize the partner under conditions corresponding to the identified partner to display a recognized partner's voice in characters.
