<p>The casing (12) of the treatment drum (11) includes radially-surrounding guide tracks with separation tracks between them, to guide the longitudinally-compressed or stuffed thread (6). The separation tracks are impermeable to gas and are crossed by the compressed thread. Drum diameter is the same at both the guide- and separation tracks. During drum rotation, A guide (21) transfers compressed thread from each approaching guide track to the next adjacent guide track, as it runs away. The guide (21) is made from sheet metal (22) and is held close to the periphery of the casing. It lies angled across the approaching guide track and the adjacent separation track. A feed unit (2) is located between the texturing unit (1) and the compressed thread storage unit (3). The compressed thread outlet (10) is tangential to the associated guide track at the periphery of the treatment drum. The compressed thread is laid onto the guide track at the circumference of the drum, through this outlet. The guide (21) is close to the feed (2) in the direction of drum rotation. The outlet includes a guide rail (19) with a grooved thread channel (26) associated with the guide track at one end. The guide rail (19) is L-shaped. The guide channel is curved in the transition region between its longer and shorter limbs. The feeder includes at least one driven transfer roller associated with the compressed thread outlet (20). It feeds the shorter limb, forming a conveying gap with the channel. There are numbers of guide tracks with intervening separation tracks on the drum. One of several guides (21) is associated with each separation track. The guides are individual, or are constructed as a multi-part, static component. The feeder (2) and the compressed thread store (3) are constructed to lead and treat several compressed threads in parallel. The feeder correspondingly has several compressed material outlets. The drum is connected to a suction unit (15) producing a reduced pressure inside.</p> |
