PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately retrieve and edit an image by extracting a proper feature quantity from the image. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has an imaging unit which images a subject through a taking lens to generate an image, and comprises an acquiring unit which acquires lens information on the taking lens, an image correcting unit which corrects geometric distortion of the image generated by the imaging unit based upon the lens information, a movement extracting unit which extracts at least one of movement information on the subject included in the image and movement information of the imaging device from the image having been corrected by the image correcting unit, a recording unit which records the image generated by the imaging unit and the movement information extracted by the movement extracting unit while relating them to each other, and an image extracting unit which extracts an image having a predetermined feature from the image recorded in the recording unit based upon the movement information.
