PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus capable of displaying a time by lighting a display section with operations of keys other than power supply related keys of a remote controller without the need for turning on a power supply of the electronic apparatus in the case that the display section is turned off due to energy-saving in a standby state. SOLUTION: When it is discriminated that the power is turned off and the remote controller is operated, the electronic apparatus discriminates whether or not other keys than the power supply related keys of the remote controller are depressed on the basis of a received operation signal. When discriminating that the other keys than the power supply related keys are depressed, the electronic apparatus regards the operation signal received from the remote controller as a display command signal and processes the operation signal, starts time count processing by a timer and turns on the display section by a display drive signal. Thus, a present time is displayed on the display section and a user can recognize the time. Thereafter, when the electronic apparatus discriminates that the count time by the timer reaches a prescribed time, the electronic apparatus stops an output of the display drive signal, and turns off the display section to attain energy-saving.
