PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an initialization processing method of recording media for recording data according to an HD-AVC standard. SOLUTION: ICB and FIDs for respective directories included in directory structure prescribed by the HD-AVC standard is recorded under a root directory of partition in consideration of information of a sub-directory. After that, SBD and meta-data/bit-map/file are recorded in the partition, while LVIS is recorded based on information such as the number of sectors consumed by recording ICB and FIDs of all directories, and the total number of directories recorded.
