PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for compacting an end part of a pavement body by which paving of a thick layer without a form can be finished neatly. SOLUTION: The device for compacting the end part of the pavement body includes; an end plate 30 which is arranged beside a screed for evenly laying and compacting a paving material spread out on an underlayer in the advancing direction, extended in the advancing direction, and protruded downward beyond a lower surface of the screed to come into contact with the underlayer to form a side edge part of the pavement body substantially vertically; and an end part compacting plate 20 arranged in a rear side of an end part of the screed inside the end plate 30 to compact the end part of the pavement body while moving up and down. In the device, an inclined dike body 22 is mounted on an end part of the compacting plate 20 in a manner of projecting downwards. A shoulder part of a side edge part of the pavement body formed by the screed and the end plate 30 is compacted while being formed to have a chamfer by the inclined dike part 22.
