PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating turbid water, in which turbid water having the quality beyond a predetermined permissible range is cleaned without requiring a worker to do inspection work or adjustment work even when such turbid water is generated at a construction site or the like, so that water of bad quality can surely be prevented from being discharged to the outside. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating turbid water is provided with: a raw water tank 2 for receiving turbid water; a treatment part 4 such as a flocculation/precipitation tank for treating the turbid water pumped out of the raw water tank 2; and a water quality detection tank 5 for receiving the water treated in the treatment part 4. When the water quality detected in the water quality detection tank 5 is within the permissible range, a return pump 19 is not operated but the supernatant water is transferred to a clean water storage tank 6 through a clean water flow passage 9. When the detected water quality is beyond the permissible range, the return pump 19 is operated by a controller 25 to return the water in the water quality detection tank 5 to the treatment part 4 through a return flow passage 10 and the raw water tank 2.
