PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillow cover material which is excellent in a holding feeling and provides an improved heat accumulating feeling and improved stuffy feeling centering on the neck part. SOLUTION: The pillow cover material comprises a solid knit fabric comprising the knitted fabric of two front and back layers and linking thread linking the knitted fabric of two layers. When the number of the linking thread in the area of 2.54 cm square (6.45 cm<SP>2</SP>) of the solid knit fabric is defined as N(lines/6.45 cm<SP>2</SP>), the dtex of the linking thread is defined as T(g/1×10<SP>6</SP>cm) and the density of the linking thread is defined asρ<SB>0</SB>(g/cm<SP>3</SP>), the total cross sectional area (N×T/1×10<SP>6</SP>ρ<SB>0</SB>) of the linking thread in the area of 2.54 cm square (6.45 cm<SP>2</SP>) of the solid knit fabric is 0.07 to 0.18 cm<SP>2</SP>.
