<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium cobaltate particles allowing high density loading and excellent in charge and discharge characteristics, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium cobaltate particles have particle size characteristics in which the 50% volume average particle size by wet particle size distribution measurement is in the range of 7-15 μm; the particle size distribution has two peaks; the peak indicating the distribution of larger particles is in the range of 8-20 μm; and the peak indicating the distribution of smaller particles is in the range of 2-5 μm. Such lithium cobaltate particles can be obtained by mixing lithium cobaltate A having a 50% volume average particle size by wet particle size distribution measurement in the range of 2-5 μm and lithium cobaltate B having a 50% volume average particle size by wet particle size distribution measurement in the range of 8-20 μm in a weight ratio A/B in the range of 0.05-0.42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
