<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal-oriented ceramic exhibiting excellent piezoelectric characteristics and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The crystal-oriented ceramic satisfies Fs≥80%, Fc≥80% and 0.98<Fc/Fs<1.10 when the orientation degree in the surface is expressed by Fs and the orientation degree in the ≥100 μm depth from the surface is expressed by Fc. The manufacturing method is carried out through a preparation step, a mixing step, a forming step and a firing step. In the preparation step, non-square shaped powder and fine powder having particle diameter 1/3 of the non-square shaped powder are prepared. In the mixing step, raw material mixture slurry obtained by mixing the powder with a solvent and satisfying a relation of Vs/Vf<1.5 of the maximum viscosity (Vf) in 300-500 /sec share rate and the maximum viscosity (Vs) in 1-100 /sec share rate is prepared. In the forming step, the raw material mixture slurry is formed and the formed body is fired in the firing step to obtain the crystal-oriented ceramic. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
