PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus to be easily operated without a risk of losing the sight of a region to be diagnosed in the diagnosis. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has an ultrasonic probe 2. The ultrasonic probe 2 repeatedly transmits ultrasonic pulses to a subject based on the time interval of transmission corresponding to the pulse repeating frequency, and receives echo signals from the subject based on the time interval of receiving corresponding to the sample volume. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises a pulse repeating frequency setting part 8, a sample volume position setting part 9, and an announcing part 10. The announcing part 10 compares the difference in time between the time interval of transmission set by the pulse repeating frequency setting part 8 and the time interval of receiving set by the sample volume position setting part 9, and announces the critical state between the state of HPRF (High Pulse Repetition Frequency) in which the time interval of transmission is shorter than the time interval of receiving and the normal state of PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) in which the time interval of transmission is longer than the time interval of receiving, if the difference in time is within a prescribed preset range as a result of the comparison.
