PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive printing device that prints an image without image defects in a short period of time even when there are discharge-failure nozzles. SOLUTION: The printing device is provided with a plurality of nozzles, which are arranged apart at prescribed intervals in a prescribed direction so as to print an image while discharging ink toward a medium, a detection part for detecting the discharge-failure nozzles from among a plurality of the nozzles, and a controller that is a controller for printing the image while using only the nozzles located apart at an interval of P times (P is an integer of≥1) of the prescribed interval in the prescribed direction so as to decide the P-fold interval on the basis of the detection result of the detection part.
