PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable ashtray which can simply be opened or closed by the operation of one hand, has improved usability, and prevents the leakage of cigarette butt ash and odor as much as possible. SOLUTION: This portable ashtray is characterized by forming a housing main body 2a in a half-spherical shape, forming an opening 4 in the housing main body 2a, closing the lower side opening with a bottom plate 2c to form the housing 2 in a hollow half-spherical body, rotatably pivotally supporting a shutter 5 in the housing main body 2a, rotating the shutter 5 along the inside of the housing main body 2a to open or close the opening 4, pressing the shutter 5 at an opening-closed position with an emerging means 6 to press the shutter to the inside 2b of the housing main body 2a, and keeping the closed state with a lock means 7.
