A method according to the present invention based on continuous and repetitive gas treatment: gas compression, cooling of the compressed gas by heat transfer to the environment or to the heated area separated from the environment, gas expansion and heat absorption from the cooled area or from the area separated from the environment. The essence of this solution is the fact that pressure changes inside rotor exchanger channels result from the combined effect of centrifugal force and unsteady centrifugal gas flow. A device according to the present invention comprises a pressure wave exchanger (A) whose inlet (6,9) and outlet (5,8) channels close two gas flow circuits: one with the hot heat exchanger located within the surrounding environment or within the area separated from the surrounding environment, and the other with the cold heat exchanger located respectively in the surrounding environment or in the area separated from the surrounding environment. The rotor (4) of the wave exchanger (A) has flow-through compression-expansion channels (1) with inlet (3) and outlet (2) ports overlapping, periodically and with phase shift, with the fixed inlet (6,9) and outlet (5,8) channels grooved in the exchanger (A) casing (11). The essence of this solution is the fact that the inlet ports (3) of the rotor's (4) compression-expansion channels (1) are located along the diameter (d) shorter than the diameter (D) along which the opposite outlet ports (2) are located. Additionally, the longitudinal axes of compression-expansion channels (1) form lines characterised by continuously increasing spacing between respective points on the said axes and the rotor's (4) axis of rotation.
|
