<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small snubber circuit of a self arc-extinguishing element, in which inductance is made low, current assignment can be equalized and reduction of voltage and current oscillation is possible, and to provide a power transforming device using the snubber circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The snubber circuit 5 of the self arc-extinguishing element, which is used for the power transforming device, is connected in parallel to a switching leg 4. A snubber capacitor 52 and a skin effect application element 51 are connected in series. The skin effect application element 51 has a characteristic that it operates as inductance in a low frequency region, and a resistance value rapidly increases in a high frequency region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
