PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record images while excluding an image adversely affected by external flash light. SOLUTION: An imaging device 41 picks up images successively and an evaluating unit 20 outputs evaluation values for the images picked up by the imaging device 41. A control unit 23 decides whether or not an image picked up by the imaging device 41 in predetermined timing is recorded by a recording unit 18 based upon its evaluation value. Then a recording and display processing unit 16 makes a recording unit 18 record the image based upon the decision result obtained by the control unit 23.
