PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the degree of vacuum in the inside of a sealed space, in evacuation process for reducing the pressure of the inside of the sealed space to a predetermined degree of vacuum by an exhaust pipe, or after evacuation processing and chipping off the exhaust pipe EXC. SOLUTION: This flat panel display device is provided with a back substrate SUB1, having a plurality of electron sources arranged in the vicinities of intersection parts between a plurality of signal lines dL and a plurality of scanning lines sL; and a front substrate SUB2 having a fluorescent surface, comprising a plurality of colors of phosphors PH, forming pairs with the respective electron sources and emitting light by the excitation of the electrons extracted from the electron sources, and positive electrodes AD, and facing to the back substrate SUB1 at a predetermined distance. A gas ratio measuring electrode MEL for measuring the degree of vacuum in the sealed space is arranged on an electron source forming surface of the back substrate or on the fluorescent surface forming surface of the front substrate.
