摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the examination efficiency of an endoscope by keeping the diameter of its insertion part as thin as possible and irradiating at least the spot for examination (the region to be watched) located just before the bent insertion tip by an appropriate brightness. SOLUTION: The controller 20 comprises a system controller 20a for carrying out process in accordance with the control program stored in a main memory, a bending direction decision part 20b for sensing the operation of a bending direction instruction button that instructs the insertion part to bend up and down, left and right directions and deciding the direction of the insertion part bent, a bending drive controller 20c for controlling a bending driver that bends the insertion part in the bending direction decided by the bending direction decision part 20b, and an LED drive controller 20d for controlling the 1st through 4th LEDs drivers provided at the up, down, left and right ends on the tip surface of the insertion part by setting up their luminances in conjunction with the insertion part bending operation.
