PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely and easily select the order of various operations necessary for sewing in a sewing machine. SOLUTION: The sewing machine has a plurality of operation devices 14, 16, 18, 22, 26, 32, 36, 42, 44, 52 and 56 to execute various operations necessary for sewing, and the various operations are divided into a plurality of processes which are executed one after another. The sewing machine also comprises a control means 92 for generating command signals to command execution of the processes one after another based on the input operation; a setting means 91 for assigning various operations to the respective processes; and a motion control means 60 for controlling the motion of the respective operation devices to execute the processes, to which various operations are assigned, according to the command signals generated one after another from the control means.
