<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus whereby a user can intuitionally understand and discriminate a guided position of a voice guidance. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: a plurality of speakers 21 to 28 for outputting a voice message; a state acquisition section for acquiring an operating state of an apparatus main body 1; a voice message storage section for storing the cross-reference between a voice message for indicating the operating state and a speaker used for outputting the voice message; and a control section for determining the voice message in response to the operating state acquired by the state acquisition section and the speaker used for the output, and outputting the determined voice message to the determined speaker.
